Scotland
2019 - There were 833 suicides. 49 more than in 2018, increasing the suicide rate to 16.6 per 100,000
Suicide rate among young people aged 15 -24 increased by 52.7%
Northern Ireland
2018 - 307 people took their own life
228 were men. Men aged 25-29 have the highest suicide rate - three times higher than women.
Suicide rate has increased by 0.4%
Republic of Ireland
2018 - 352 people took their own life.
282 were men. Men aged 55-64 have the highest suicide rate - four times higher than that of women.
Suicide rate has fallen by 9.6%

In 2019, there were 5,691 suicides registered in England and Wales, an age-standardised rate of 11 deaths per 100,000 population
females, the rate was 5.3 deaths per 100,000 Males aged 45 to 49 years had the highest age-specific suicide rate (25.5 deaths per 100,000 males); for females, the age group with the highest rate was 50 to 54 years at 7.4 deaths per 100,000.
